|  VISION: A Christian Community Alive to Reaching
Our World for Christ (Act 2:42-47)
Mission: SPCC exists to WORSHIP God, BRING people to Christ,
EQUIP and mobilise them for MINISTRY to EACH OTHER and the Greater world. |

STATEMENT OF FAITH
  - We believe in the Triune God, one God in three persons: the Father,
Son and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, 1 Peter 1:2). He is
the Sovereign Lord, Creator and Sustainer of the universe (Genesis 1:1,
Romans 11:36), who Himself is without beginning or end (Colossians 1:16,
  Revelation 1:8).

   - We believe that Jesus Christ is the unique Son of God (Matthew 3:17,
John 3:16) who, being fully God, Left His place of glory taking on the
role of a servant as a man (Philippians 2:6-8, Col 2:9) in order that people
might be reconciled to the Father (John 14:6, 2 Corinthians 5:20-21).

   - We believe that Jesus was crucified, buried and raised bodily on the
third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), thus substantiating His claims as the
Son of God (John 2:19-21) and making provision for the forgiveness of sins
based upon his perfect sacrifice for our sakes (2 Corinthians 5:21).

   - We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God (2 Peter 1:19-21).
We have received God's Word as our sole authority for doctrine and practice
of faith, being without error and accurate in its original record as well
as effectual and relevant in its application to our lives (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

   - We believe that people, both male and female, are created in God's
own image (Genesis 1:26-27), meaning that we are spiritual beings with
personality, moral discernment, and the capacity to know the Creator God.
However, sin has broken our relationship with God (Genesis 3:1-8, Romans
3:10-12) and impaired our capacity to know Him and lead righteous lives
  apart from Jesus Christ.

   - We believe that no one can appropriate forgiveness of sins apart from
a personal commitment to receive Jesus and His payment for sin by faith
(Romans 3:23, John 1:12). Leading a good life can not gain God's merit
or grace (Ephesians 2:9, Titus 3:5-6) but it is only the imputation of
Christ's righteousness that brings forgiveness in the sight of the Father
  (Hebrews 10:14, Romans 5:1-2).

   - We believe that all who believe and have received Christ are united
into one body by the indwelling work of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians
12:12-13). Upon receiving Christ by faith, we receive the Holy Spirit who
acts to seal us in the family of God (Ephesians 1:13-14) and to empower
us toward Christlike character (Galatians 5:22-23) and loving service to
one another (Philippians 2:3-4, Ephesians 2:10).

   - We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to gather up thouse
who love Him (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18), which will be followed by the outpouring
of judgement upon the world (Matthew 24:27-31, Revelation 1:7), culminating
in the restoration of all creation and the establishment of His Kingdom
  (Revelation 19-21, Daniel 7:27).

   - We believe in the practice of joining together on the day of our Lord's
resurrection to worship His name (Philippians 2:9-11), to proclaim the
good news (Acts 1:8, Matthew 28:19-20), to encourage one another to love
  and good deeds (Hewbrews 10:24-25).

Therefore, in obedience to Christ's commands...
  - We remember weekly His substitutionary death and bodily resurrection
through the sharing of the Lord's Supper. This is as a reminder of what
Christ accomplished in providing a new life (1 Cor 11:23-26).

 - We immers (baptise) thouse who publicly confess faith in Christ as
Savciour and Lord (Matthew 28:19). The act of baptism denotes identification
with Christ and His body, repentance and the washing away of our sin and
the new life we received from Him (Romans 6:1-3).
